Gratuity = Last Drawn Salary × 15 × Years of Service / 26
The 15/26 formula means 15 days wages for each year of service, calculated on a 26-day month basis.
Tax Exemption
For government employees, entire gratuity is tax-free. For private sector employees covered by the Act, exemption is minimum of: actual gratuity, 15/26 formula amount, or ₹20,00,000.
